George Albert Cummings was born in Rutland, Wis., Sept. 11, 1846, and died at his home in Lee, Buena Vista county, Feb. 19th, 1903. He was married in April 1872 to Mrs. Sarah M. Drake. Two children were born to them, Abbie and Ala, the former of whom died in infancy. He came to Iowa in 1847 and was a resident here until four years ago when he made his home in the west. He was an obliging neighbor, a kind husband and a loving, indulgent parent. A widow, one daughter, three brothers and two sisters survive him. The remains were brought to Volga for interment. The funeral services were held in the Presbyterian church, Rev. W. H. McCuskey preached the discourse assisted by Rev. F. A. Bretnall.
