Elkader Argus, Wed., 27 Jan. 1903. Strawberry Point column.
Died- At her home in this city Sunday morning of consumption, Mrs. Mildred Griffin, after a painful illness, extending over a year. She was thirty-five years of age and leaves a husband, son, an aged father and mother and one brother besides other relatives and friends to mourn her untimely death. Death came after a hard struggle to gain health and once more take her place among her family and friends. Hers was a hopeful and cheerful disposition, always pleasant to meet and converse. She was taken sick with rheumatism over a year ago. She went to the sanitarium at La Crosse last spring but found only temporary relief, and has since been steadily failing. The funeral was held Tuesday at two o'clock at the home, Rev. Marsh officiating. The family has the sympathy of all in this sad time.
