Elkader Register, Thur., 20 Mar. 1890.

On Friday, March 14th, 1890, at 2:30 a.m., after a short illness, occurred the death of Maggie, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Orr, of Highland township. Maggie was born September 17th, 1867, and was in her 23d year at the time of her death. She was a general favorite, and will be mourned by a large circle of friends. Our sympathy is extended to the bereaved parents and brothers and sister.

The funeral took place on Sunday last at the Catholic church, Rev. Father Rilly officiating, after which her remains were deposited in the Catholic cemetery at Elkader.

"A precious one from us has gone
A voice we loved is stilled;
A place is vacant in our home,
Which never can be filled.

God in his wisdom has recalled,
The boon His love had given;
And although her body moulders here
Her soul is safe in Heaven."
