Esther I. Palas, 95, died Monday morning, Nov. 13, 2000, in the Elkader Care Center after a long illness. Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday, Peace United Church of Christ, Elkader, by Pastor Rusty Phillips. Burial: Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Clayton Center. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Leonard Funeral Home, Elkader, and after 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church.

Survivors include a son, Clifford of Elkader; and two daughters, Julaine Mohning of Monona and Jennadine Walters of Elkader.
