Services for Gene A. Robinson, 44, of Guttenberg were conducted by Father Paul Peters at 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 15, at St. Mary Catholic Church.

Mr. Robinson died Thursday, Aug. 11, 1994 at Finley Hospital in Dubuque following complications from diabetes. He had been hospitalized since May 8 as the result of a diabetic coma.

Visitation was at the Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home Sunday. Interment was in St. Mary Cemetery with the following casket bearers: Ryan and Eric Roth, James Nolan, James Becker, Ronald Niehaus, Terry and Jeremiah Frommelt.

Mr. Robinson was born Jan. 26, 1950 in Elgin, Ill., a son of Joseph and Ruth (Nicolai) Robinson. He was a quality control manager for the Love Controls Corp., for 17 years in Wheeling, Ill., and was associated with the Iowa Commission for the Blind.

On Sept. 30, 1977, he was united in marriage to Linda Pavlovsky.

Surviving besides his wife are his mother, Mrs. Ruth Robinson of Guttenberg; and five nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father.

The Robinson's moved to Guttenberg in 1988. Gene inspired those who knew him because of his sense of humor despite his long illness.
