William Horstman passed away at his home in Garber Saturday last. He was born July 12th, 1853 in Volga township. He lived on the old Horstman farm, which he had bought from his parents, all his life.
In the year 1875 he was united in marriage to Louisa Block of Elkport. From this union there was an issue of eleven children.
The deceased received instruction in the Doctrines of the Lutheran church in older years and he was ever after an active church member.
In December of last year deceased relinquished his work on the farm and moved to Garber where he had purchased a house and lot. There his health completely failed and death came only after an illness of three weeks. He reached the age of sixty-six years, six months and nineteen days.
He leaves to mourn his demise: the widow, three sisters and one brother, who are: Mrs. Caroline Ruckdrescher of Wisconsin, Mrs. Louisa Fritz, Garber, Miss Mary Horstman, Chicago, Mr. Henry Horstman, Wisconsin; the following children: Fred, Henry, Willy, George, Albert and Elsie, at home, Mrs. Emilie Schulz, Guttenberg, Mrs. Anna Schaub, Volga, Mrs. Malinda Schulz, Volga; and twelve grandchildren; besides these a large circle of friends and relatives.
Funeral services were conducted in the Elkport Luth. church by Rev. P. E. Stolz. Interment was made in the parish cemetery.
