Funeral services were held for Mrs. Edward Fuelling Thursday, April 3, 1958, at 1:30 p.m., at the St. John Lutheran church at Farmersburg with the Rev. R. H. Steege officiating. Burial was at the Farmersburg-Wagner cemetery, Farmersburg.
Mrs. Edward (Effie) Fuelling, daughter of Justus and Dora Wiechman Henkes, was born April 14, 1893, in Wagner township, Clayton county, Iowa, and did March 31, 1958, at her home near Luana from a heart condition. She had been ill four days.
She received her education from the public schools in Wagner township and Farmersburg, and lived in Wagner township and Farmersburg vicinity all her life.
She was an accomplished seamstress and for several years before her marriage operated a millinery shop in Farmersburg with her sister.
Mrs. Fuelling was a member of the Silver Creek club for 25 years, and a member of the St. John Lutheran church, Farmersburg.
On Dec. 6, 1922, she was united in marriage to Edward Fuelling by the Rev. F. Braun. She lived in Farmersburg for nine years after her marriage and moved to the present home in 1931.
She was preceded in death by a son, Robert, April, 1935; a sister, Mrs. August (Ella) Meyer, and her mother and father.
She is survived by her husband; three sons, Carle and Allison Fuelling, Farmersburg, and LeRoy at home; one daughter, Mrs. Joseph (Evelyn) La Manna, Dallas, Texas; and seven grandchildren; two brothers, Arthur Henkes, Farmersburg, and Seward Henkes, McGregor; and one sister, Mrs. Clara Walter, Farmersburg.
