Funeral services were held for Roy Harry Christopher, 73, Friday, Aug. 19, 1994, at Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home, Garnavillo. Pastor Tom Jones officiated the service with burial in the Clayton Cemetery. Pallbearers were Gary White, Bill Kuehl, Tyler Brandel, Michael Frye, Dywane Fabert and Robert Meyer.
Roy Christopher was born March 29, 1921, at Hartley, Iowa, son of John and Addie (Brehmer) Christopher. He graduated from the Hartley School System and was a carpenter working for Trademark Homes Inc. for many years. On June 22, 1976, he was united in marriage with Dorothy (Meyer Spiker) at the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Peace in Clayton, Iowa. Roy Christopher died Tuesday, Aug. 16, 1994, at Prairie Memorial Hospital in Prairie du Chien, Wis.
Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Jacolyn (David)) Gatrel of Nemaha; two step-daughters, Mrs. Janice Krugger and Mrs. Beverly (Joe) Wirkler, both of Garnavillo; four step-sons, James (Vicky) Spiker of Clayton, Lavern (Mary) Spiker of Guttenberg, David Spiker and Wesley Spiker, both of Garnavillo; two sisters, Mrs. Ruth McAlpine of Meredith, and Mrs. Maynard "Ottie" (Bernard) Benner of Sandborn; three granddaughters, two great-granddaughters and 13 step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
