STRAWBERRY POINT -- Viola Mildred Andersen, 89, of Naples, Fla., formerly of
Strawberry Point, passed away Dec. 10, 2003, peacefully in her home at
Moorings Park in Naples.She was born in 1914 in Pacific Junction, the daughter of Allen and Myrtle
Watts. She had been a resident of Naples since 1978, relocating from Strawberry
Point.Viola graduated from Jennie Edmundson School of Nursing, Council Bluffs, in
1936. In that same year she married Dr. H.M. Andersen and moved to Strawberry
Point, where they worked as a doctor-nurse team for 45 years.Viola is survived by a son, Jon Andersen of Las Cruces, N.M.; a daughter,
Jane Johanos of Naples, Fla.; a sister, Elizabeth Thomas of Crestline, Calif.; a
brother-in-law, Dr. Kenneth Andersen of Center Point; five grandchildren, Tina
Andersen-Wahlberg of Pasadena, Calif., Dr. Bruce M. Trimble, DDS, of
Menomonie, Wis., Jane Hampton of Minneapolis, Dr. Craig Andersen of Grand Junction, Colo., and Dr. Eric Andersen of Madison, Wis.; and six great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her loving husband, H.M. Andersen; a sister,
Eleanor Cloyd; and a son-in-law, W. Bruce Sandison.A graveside memorial service is planned later in the summer of 2004. She will
be buried in Strawberry Point.
