Elkader Register, Fri., 4 Mar. 1881. Guttenberg Gatherings column.

Mr. J. H. Thamann died on the 28th ult. Mr. T. had a stroke of paralysis a short time since, from which he never recovered. Deceased was an old and highly esteemed resident of this place, having lived here since 1851. He was about 55 years of age, and leaves a wife and several daughters to mourn the loss of a husband and father. His funeral occurred on the 2d inst., and was largely attended.
