DENNIS HONN LOSES LIFE IN ACCIDENT
Highway Crash Is Fatal to One; Three Hurt
Dennis N. Honn, 18, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ray G. Honn, lost his life about 1:00 a. m. Wednesday when the car he was driving went out of control on a curve on Highway 18 about a half mile west of McGregor.
Dennis was thrown from the car when it sheared off a utility pole.
The accident occurred as Dennis and three other youths were returning to Garnavillo from Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. The other three were Bryce Neverman, 18, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arno Neverman; Kevin Neylan, 17, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Neylan, and Rollin Seifert, 19, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Seifert.
The three injured young men were taken to McGregor hospital where they were treated for minor injuries and released.
Dennis graduated from the Garnavillo Community school in 1963 and was a student at Iowa State University at Ames during the past school year.
Dennis was the only child of Mr. and Mrs. Honn.
The funeral services have not yet been set but will be in charge of the Tuecke funeral home in Garnavillo.

OBITUARY
DENNIS NEILSEN HONN
Final rites were held last Friday afternoon from the Tuecke funeral home to St. Paul’s Lutheran church for Dennis Neilsen Honn, 18 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Ray G. Honn of Garnavillo. Dennis died as the result of an automobile accident near McGregor early Wednesday, August 12.
The services were conducted by Rev. L. C. Urlaub, pastor of St. Paul’s church and burial was in the Monona cemetery. Pallbearers were Van Zittergruen, Jim Peterson, Bryce Neverman, David Mohning, Joe Helle and Rollin Seifert.
Dennis was born October 15, 1945 at Rochester, Minnesota, the son of Attorney and Mrs. Ray G. Honn. He attended the Garnavillo Community Schools from which he was graduated in 1963. During the past year, he attended the State University at Ames and was planning to return to college this fall.
Dennis is survived by his parents, his paternal grandfather, Arthur Honn, of Colesburg, and his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Gertrude Neilsen of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
