Elkader Argus, Wed., 11 June 1902. Below the Strawberry Point column.
Mrs. Washington Clough died very suddenly at West Union Saturday, where she and her husband had gone to visit his brother from India who was visiting relatives there. She had been in poor health all winter but thought a short trip would do her good. Her death came as a great shock to her many friends in this place, she having lived here for a great many years. The funeral was held at the Baptist church Monday afternoon at 2 p.m., Rev. Ostrich, of Lamont, conducting the services. Interment in the East Side cemetery.
