Kappel, Karl 1851-1931

Karl Kappel died at the county home Friday, October 16th, at the age of eighty years, six months and five days. He was born in Germany, April 11, 1851, and is survived by his widow. Funeral services were held Saturday and interment was made in the county farm cemetery, the Rev. Paul Kitterer officiating.

Notes: 1910 census, Cox Creek twp. - Carl Kappel, age 59, b. Germany, immigrated 1883, naturalized, farmer. Wife - Reka age 34. They had been married 11 yrs. at the time of the census. No children.

1920 census - the couple are still living in Cox Creek twp.

Marriage record, 4/6/1899: her maiden name was Friederika Stephan
