Richard Dinan Dies of Injuries
Funeral Services Were Held Monday Morning

Richard Dinan, 31, died at 7:00 a.m., Friday, the result of injuries received in a tractor accident on the Dinan farm near Littleport, the evening before. When he was found he was in an unconcious condition and never regained consciousness again.

The deceased was born July 10, 1910 on a farm near Littleport, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Mike Dinan. June 18, 1936, he was united in marriage at Strawberry Point, with Gretchen Berns, who survives him.

Other survivors are his mother, Mrs. Margaret Dinan and three brothers and seven sisters, as follows: Joseph of West Union, John of Elkader, Robert of Elgin, Mrs. Margaret Whittle of Strawberry Point, Mrs. Charlotte Lenhardt of Littleport, Miss Ruth Dinan, Elkader, Miss Kathryn Dinan of Waverly, Miss Eileen Dinan of Davenport and the Misses Helen and Mary Dinan at home.

Richard was a graduate of the Littleport high school, a member of the Knights of Columbus and at the time of his death was managing a large cattle and grain farm.

Funeral services were held last Monday morning at 9:30 in Sacred Heart church in Littleport and burial was is St. Joseph’s cemetery, Elkader, with the Rev. Julius Olinger officiating. Casketbearers were Ivan Lenhardt, John Ortman, George Hakert, Harvey Johnson, Wm. Dahling and Earl Pust.
