Hold Services at Garber for Mrs. Frank Amling, Sr.
ELKPORT: Requiem high mass for Mrs. Frank Amling Sr. was solemnized Saturday morning, June 23, at St. Michaels Catholic church in Garber by the Rev. McEnaney, pastor.
Anna Louise Cebert was born Jan. 18, 1871 at Dochaut, Germany, coming directly to Clayton county at the age of 17 years. She was married to Frank Amling on Jan. 7, 1890, who preceded her in death on March 13, 1939.
Seven children were born to them. One daughter Alice, preceded her parents in death.
Mrs. Amling was a pioneer resident of Clayton county and until the past few years, when ill health prevented, took active interest in the affairs of St. Michaels parish and the community. She was well known throughout the entire county.
She is survived by six children; Frank Jr. Elkport; Mrs. Ann Preston, Kenosha, Wis.; Mrs. Minne Baker, Chetek, Wis.; John, Elkport; Louis, Mason City and Mrs. Charlotte O’Brien, Strawberry Point; thirteen grandchildren and on great grandson.
Pallbearers were: Realto Berns, John Costigan, Arthur Jennings, George Amling, Leo Flaherty and Otto Berns.
Out of town relatives other than members of the immediate family who attended the funeral were: Mrs. Nora Smith, Mrs. Kate Seward and Mrs. Henry Lee, Edgewood; Mr. and Mrs. Chester Arthur, Oelwein; Mrs. Emmett Thyne, Volga and Ed Sherman, Strawberry Point.
