Services for Laura D. Reimer, 84, of rural Garnavillo were conducted by Pastor Wayne Hagen at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30, at the Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home, Guttenberg.

Mrs. Reimer died Tuesday, Oct. 27, 1992, at her home after a lengthy illness.

Burial was in Grant View Cemetery, Greeley, with the following pallbearers: Gerald Reimer, Roger Reimer, Donald Tyler, John Reimer, Vince Eilers and Robert Tyler.

Mrs. Reimer was born Feb. 24, 1909, in Honey Creek Township, Delaware County, a daughter of William and Martha (Durham) Holmes. She attended Delaware County schools. On Aug. 18, 1927, she was married to Henry C. Reimer, who died Dec. 4, 1969. They farmed in the Earlville, Lansing and Strawberry Point areas until their retirement to the Elkport area. They moved to rural Garnavillo in 1966.

Surviving are two sons, William (and Marilyn) Reimer and Alfred Reimer of Garnavillo; a son-in-law, Carl Waterman of Edgewood; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, June Waterman on June 25, 1984; and four sisters, Ella May Sevey, Alta Sutton, Katherine and Beulah Holmes.
