[from the Thursday, 3 November 1898 issue, “Elkader Register,” Our Local Scrap-Bag section, page 5, column 4]

Mrs. Ann Wright, daughter of David and Betsey Smith, of Farmersburg twp., died at her home in National at 1 [may be 4] o’clock p. m., Thursday, Oct. 27th, 1898. She was born May 16, 1846, in Essex county, N. Y., and at an early date moved with her parents to this county, near National. She was married to John T. Wright, Oct. 9th, 1865. Deceased leaves a husband and four children. The funeral was held Sunday, Rev. A. B. Fickel, officiating.
