Cain, Wm. 1819 - 1888

Elkader Register, Thur., 15 March 1888.

Word has been received here of the death of Wm. Cain, which took place at his home in Smith county, Kansas, after a long sickness with Bright's disease.

Mr. Cain was one of the early settlers of Clayton county, having located in Cox Creek township in 1846, and resided there until 1878, when he removed to Kansas.

He was a native of Pennsylvania, where he was born in 1819, and was therefore 69 years of age.

He leaves a wife and nine children to mourn his death. One of his children is Mrs. S. R. Munger, of Elkader. He also leaves many old time friends here who will regret to learn of his decease.
