Carl Arnold Rizer, a son of Delbert Alton and Annette (Nettie) Mae (Brockmeier) Rizer was born on November 13, 1913, at his parents rural Elk Township home in Clayton County.

He attended the rural schools and Edgewood High School. On February 11, 1936, he was united in marriage with Dorothy Marie McNeal at Edgewood, Iowa. They lived and farmed north of Edgewood. Carl was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church.

Survivors include: his wife Dorothy, a son, Kerry Carl Rizer of Strawberry Point, Iowa; a daughter, Mrs Cletus (Carlene Kay) Reinhardt of Springville, Iowa; a brother, Leigh Rizer of Edgewood, Iowa; two sisters, Viola (Mae) Parkinson of Grundy Center, Iowa and Verla Slack of Des Moines, Iowa; six grandchildren, Norman and Darrel Rizer of Strawberry Point, Iowa and Jill Rizer of Storm Lake, Iowa; Kirk Reinhardt of Athens, Tennessee, Darcie and Trista Reinhardt of Springville, Iowa; Three great Grandsons, Nicolas and Robert Cale Rizer of Strawberry Point, Iowa and Tyler Reinhardt of Athens, Tennessee.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Donald Rizer and Dean Rizer.
