Annie Rebecca was born January 8, 1897 at Wood Center, Iowa, to Kelly and Anna (Scott) Rulon. She was raised and educated in the area attending the Wood Center School. She was baptized by the Rev. Arthur Meyers, May 27, 1934, at Wood Methodist Church.
April 25, 1916, Annie was united in marriage to Emory C. Ash in the Methodist parsonage at Edgewood, Iowa, by the Rev. G.L. Herserman.
Together they farmed in the Wood Center area all of their married life. Emory died in 1970. Annie remained on the farm until entering the Edgewood Convalescent Home a few months ago.
After an extended illness, Annie died at the Delaware County Memorial Hospital in Manchester, Iowa on Saturday afternoon, March 4, 1989, at the age of ninety two. Annie enjoyed flowers and being called aunt.
She is survived by three nieces: Mrs. Warren (Helene) Hansel of Edgewood, Mrs. Joyce Smith of Edgewood, and Mrs. Nola LaMere of Columbia, Mo.; four nephews: Lawrence Ash of Monticello, Austin Ash of Edgewood, Clay Ash of Edgewood, and Garlyn Ash of Solon, Iowa, and several grand nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a sister Jeanette; and two-half brothers, Claud J. and Earl K. Rulon.
