Elkader Register & Argus, Thur., 29 Aug. 1912. In the Strawberry Point column.

Anson Cooper was born at Brownhelm, Loraine County, Ohio, October 18, 1846, and died at Strawberry Point, Iowa, August 15, 1912, at the age of 65 years, 9 months and 27 days.

On December 23, 1868, he was united in marriage to Miss Elizabeth ______ Redfern (Middle name looks like Amelia.). Three children were born to them; Clarence Redfern, who died some nine years ago; Raymond Victor, residing at Kingfisher, Oklahoma, and Jennie Blanche, now Mrs. Sloan, who resides at Marshalltown. Both were present at the funeral.

Mr. and Mrs. Cooper came west in 1883 and settled near here, where they engaged in farming, and have resided in this vicinity ever since.

For the past ten years he has been in the Government mail service in the rural delivery department, having begun as a carrier out of this place when the rural free delivery was first started in Iowa.

He leaves to mourn his loss besides the widow and children; one brother, George, who resides at the old home, Brownhelm, Ohio; and three sisters, Mrs. Belle Dunning and Mrs. Albert Smith, both of this city, and Mrs. Emaline Cooley who resides in Ohio.

Funeral services were held at the home Sunday afternoon, conducted by Rev. NanSwearingen, of the Congregational church. Burial took place in the Strawberry Point cemetery.
