Robert "Oakley" Anderegg, 94, of Guttenberg died Wednesday, July 7, 2004, at his home.

Visitation was from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, July 9, at Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Guttenberg.

Funeral service was at United Methodist Church, Guttenberg at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 10, with Pastor Jared Breeden officiating. Pallbearers were Jason Aulwes, Ryan Aulwes, Chad Aulwes, Geoffry Walker, Troy Walker, Matt Anderegg, Mike Anderegg and Kevin Anderegg.

Interment was at St. John's Cemetery, rural Guttenberg.

Robert Oakley Anderegg was born the son of Robert and Lillian (Gull) Anderegg, Nov. 18, 1909, on the family farm near Millville.

Oakley received his education locally and farmed with his family for many years. He served 27 years on the Guttenberg School Board and many years on the Fidelity Bank and Trust Board in Dyersville.

On Jan. 14, 1937, he was united in marriage with Josephine Hankes at the First Congregational Church in Dubuque.

Survivors include his wife, Josephine; three daughters, Norma Walker of Des Moines; Joyce Anderegg of Marshalltown; and Susan (Gary) Aulwes of Cedar Rapids; two sons, John (Karen) Anderegg and Steve (Connie) Anderegg, both of Guttenberg; 13 grandchildren, Geoffrey, Robyn and Troy (Patti-Lynn) Walker, Mike, Matt and Heather Anderegg, Jason (Joedi), Ryan (Lisa) and Chad (Clare) Aulwes, Debbie (Troy) Meyer, Nikki (Tim) Barker, Kevin (Jen) Anderegg and Gina Anderegg; eight great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded by his parents; three sisters, Lillian Borcherding, Clara Anderegg and Alta Troester, and five brothers, Clark, Robert, Otto, Urey and Rae.
