Mrs. Sophia Lindendall, who came to this county some thirty years ago, died at the residence of her son, E.L. Geno, on Sunday last, of pneumonia, at the age of 63 years.
Sophia Trombleee was born in St. Lawrence county, N.Y., Feb. 18, 1831 and in 1849 was married to Moses Geno, to whom three children were born, two sons, E.L. Geno, of Elkader, and A.J., of Strawberry Point, surviving her. Mr. Geno, in 1862, laid down his life as a soldier in the service of his country at White House landing, Virginia.
In 1863 she married Walter Lindendall and came to Sperry twp., where three children were born to them, Mrs. Joseph Douglass, of Monona, and Mary and Charles Lindendall. Mr. Lindendall died in 1883.
The deceased has for many years been a consistent member of the M.E. church, and in an unostentatious way illustrated its teachings.
The funeral services were held at the house Wednesday morning by Rev. Mr. Lusk, when the remains were taken to the Reed cemetery in Sperry twp. for burial, being followed to their resting place by a number of the relatives and friends of the family.

Note: Although her surname is spelled Lindendall throughout the obituary, the spelling on her & Walter's gravestone is Linendoll.
