Mrs. Clarissa Tracy died at her late home in the west part of this township last Friday morning of congestion of the lungs after a short sickness, aged 66 years. The funeral occurred Sunday afternoon, Rev. Kidder officiating, and the remains were laid away in the Reed cemetery*.
We have been unable to see any one who could tell us much of her life's history. She came with her husband, who died some years ago, to this country when it was but an unbroken wilderness and to them belongs the honor of being the first white settlers in Cass township. She was beloved and respected by all who knew her and leaves many a friend and a large family of grown up children to mourn her death - Strawberry Point Press
