Postville Review, 19 Oct. 1900

Roxana Russell was born May 23, 1816, in Fairfax, Franklyn Co., Vermont, and died at the residence of her niece, Miss Ellen McMaster, Oct. 13, 1900, after an illness of only seven days.

She was married Apr. 2, 1838, to Porter F. Dickinson, and to them were born two children, a son and a daughter, who died in early childhood.

With her husband the deceased left Vermont in 1855, driving most of the way to Pleasant Ridge, Iowa, and removing some time later to Grand Meadow, where her husband died 22 years ago.

Since his death Mrs. Dickinson has made her home with her niece, Mrs. W. T. Bailey of Marshalltown, visiting from time to time her relatives in Northwood and Postville.

She early gave herself to God and was for a long time a staunch member of the Baptist church of Pleasant Ridge.

She was an earnest and faithful worker in every line of Christian enterprise and was much beloved by all who knew her.

Card Of Thanks -- We wish to extend our sincere thanks to all who so kindly assisted us in our late bereavement.

Mr. and Mrs. M. Y. McMaster, Miss Ellen McMaster, Mrs. W. T. Bailey.
