HAND, NEEDHAM, LUSTER, BURNS, GERBER

Funeral services were held last Thursday from the Hand home to St. Joseph's Church for John F. Hand, who died in an Oelwein hospital last week Tuesday, following an ailment of five years. Burial was made at Elkport, the Rev. Father J. P. Taken officiating.

John F. Hand was born in McGregor, December 13, 1875 and at the time of his death had reached the age of 63 years and 14 days. He never married. For a time he lived with his parents at Elkport and then moved to Allamakee county where he farmed. Five years ago he came to Elkader and this has since been his home at the Hand residence.

He was the son of John and Margaret Hand, both of whom, as well as three sisters and one brother, preceded him in death.

Casketbearers were: M. J. Garaghty, Eugene Connor, M. J. Hurly, John Moyna, Henry Losch and Thos. Donohue.

Relatives from a distance who came to attend the services were: Pat and Leo Needham and Mr. and Mrs. Bartley Needham, all of Waukon; Bob Luster of Monona; Albert and Babe Burns of Minneapolis.
