That dread disease, “Spinal Minigitis,” which has made many a household desolate, visited this place a short time since, and Robert Porter, son of John Porter, became a victim to the destroyer; he died the 13th inst., after enduring terrible agony only a few days.

Robert was about sixteen years old, a good boy, industrious and a faithful attendant at the Sabbath School. The services of his funeral was held last Sabbath; sermon by Rev. Mr. Van Arsdale.
