Albert Clauson died at the Larson Nursing home in St. Olaf, Feb. 14, 1951. He had reached the age of 81 years and three months. He was baptized June 4, 1869 and confirmed in the Norway Lutheran church November 4, 1883.
He enjoyed good health until three years ago when he suffered his first stroke. Since that time Mr. Clauson had suffered several other strokes which caused his death.
January 22, 1919 he was united in marriage to Kjerstic Kjome. To this union two children were born, Molly and Clifton.
He was postmaster in St. Olaf for a number of years and also clerk in a hardware store. Most of his life was spent in this community.
Albert Clauson was preceded in death by his wife November 25, 1944, his daughter, May 25, 1931, and his sister, Mrs. Nels Hulverson, May 3, 1950.
Survivors are his only son, Clifton Clauson; one grandson, Thomas Dean Clauson of Waterloo; two nephews, Leland Hulverson, St. Olaf, Helmer Hulverson, Elkader; one grand nephew, Robert Lee Hulverson of Elkader, and a host of friends.
The funeral services were held at the chapel in St. Olaf at 1:30, and at the Norway Lutheran church at 2:00. Burial was at the Norway cemetery.
Pallbearers were Wm. Koehn Sr., Gunnar Landsgaard, Melvin Johnson, Wm. Furman, Leroy Larson, Robert Hulverson.
