Died in Highland Township, December 17th, 1871, at the residence of Hugh McKellar, Archibald McKellar, aged 85

Clayton County Journal: December 20, 1871

Burial: Illyria Cemetery
He was born in County Lanark, Scotland.
Immigrating in 1848 with his father
A prominent Clayton County farmer, settling first in Farmersburg Township in 1851
