Mrs. Mary Possehl, nee Schave, was born in Johrhenden, Neustadt, Mecklenburg, Germany, on March 9, 1843, and passed away at her home in Garnavillo on Monday, Sept. 3rd, at the age of 70 years, 5 months and 27 days.

In 1864 she was united in marriage to Henry Possehl and about eight years later the family came to America. They settled near Elkport, later purchasing a farm near Garnavillo. In 1905 they moved to town and here in 1908 the devoted husband was called in death. Deceased has been a patient sufferer for many years.

She is survived by her four children, Mrs. Mary Huebner, of Boardman township, Mrs. Lizzie Preuss and Fred, of Read township, and John, at home. Funeral services were held on Friday, Rev. Braun officiating.
