Funeral services for Edward Henry Ehrhardt, 79, were held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church here Wednesday, April 7. Burial was in St. Joseph's Cemetery. The Rt. Rev. Msgr. L. W. Klassen officiated.
Ehrhardt died suddenly at his home in Elkader on Monday, April 5.
A son of the Edward Charles Ehrhardts, he was born at Elkader January 15, 1892. He attended rural school and also went to the Elkader public school. He farmed for a time in Boardman Township and then spent 19 years as assessor for Elkader.
On May 29, 1916, he was married to Delia S. Cain at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Mrs. Ehrhardt preceded her husband in 1966.
Surviving are four children, E. M. Ehrhardt, Austin, Minn.; Mrs. Charles (Geraldine) Gundacker and Mrs. Larry (Marguerite) Berns, both of Elkader; and Mrs. Myron (Rose Marie) Matsler, Montevideo, Minn.; and two brothers, Fred J. Ehrhardt, Sac City, and Elmer Ehrhardt, Oelwein.
Pallbearers were Greg Berns, Michael Matsler, Ed Ehrhardt, Corby Gundacker, Dean Leonard and Carroll Ehrhardt.
