Farmersburg- Caddy Burnham, daughter of Francis and Martha Brown Burnham, was born at Farmersburg, October 16, 1888. Her entire life was spent in the Farmersburg community. The farm home north of Farmersburg was her home her entire life.
December 18, 1964, she fell and broke her hip. She was immediately taken to the hospital at Elkader for treatment. In April of this year she was able to return to her home where she was cared for by her sister, Grace, and Green Swartz. For awhile she seemed to improve in health but the past few weeks her health began to fail rapidly.
She was taken to the McGregor hospital Monday, July 26, where she died that same day about 11 p.m. The number of her days on earth totaled to 76 years, 9 months and 10 days.
Funeral services were held Thursday, July 29, 1965, at 2 p.m., in the Schultz Funeral Home, Monona, with the Rev. R. H. Steege of St. John's Lutheran Church, Farmersburg, the pastor. Burial was at the F & W Cemetery.
