Farmersburg- Funeral services for Grace Burnham, 85, were held Saturday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock in the Schultz Funeral Home in Monona. Rev. R. H. Steege, pastor of St. John's Lutheran Church in Farmersburg, officiated. Burial was in the Farmersburg-Wagner Cemetery.
Vocal music was supplied by Mrs. Orval Mueller and Mrs. James Walter. Mrs. R. H. Steege accompanied them at the piano.
Grace Burnham, daughter of Francis Burnham and his wife, Martha, nee Brown, was born in Farmersburg on July 3, 1882. Her entire life was spent in the Farmersburg community. The Burnham farm north of Farmersburg was her home almost her entire life.
The deceased had been in failing health for the past several years. This past summer it was necessary for her to spend some time in the hospital on two different occasions. After she was dismissed from the hospital the last time, she was taken to the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in West Union where she spent some time. On Sept. 1 she was taken to the Luana Rest Home where she spent the rest of her days.
She became ill Wednesday, Nov. 15 and was taken to the Postville hospital where she died Thursday, Nov. 16. She reached the age of 85 years, 4 months and 13 days.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Ray; and three sisters, Amy, Luella and Caddy.
She is survived by cousins and Friends.
