George Heitz.
George Hetz was born Sept. 5, 1899, in Oberlandstadt, Bavaria, Germany. With his brothers he fought at the front in the last World War but escaped with his life. Seven years ago he emigrated to America locating in Clayton county, where he found employment. Feb. 1926 he married and settled down on his farm which he bought but a few years ago. He was an industrious and honest worker with a bright future before him. In Germany he had studied for a teaching vocation and was especially gifted in music. His violin gave him many joyful hours of pastime and retained his friendly disposition.
On the last day of the past year he was fatally injured by a wood sawing machine and died but a few minutes after his injury. He leaves to mourn his death his wife and one two year old daughter, five brothers, parents and many other comrades and friends.
Funeral services were held from St. John's Lutheran church, Pastor Ave-Lallemant officiating, Jan 3, 1930. Interment was made in the cemetery at Farmersburg.
