Mrs. Rosa Winkler passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. H. F. Beeh at Elkport, Iowa, Tuesday morning, August 21, 1928, after an illness of several months.
Rosali Lehman, oldest child of Joseph and Phillipa Baude was born in Alsace-Loraine, Germany, on the 6th day of September, A.D. 1861. In the year 1882 she was united in holy bonds of wedlock to Emil Winkler who preceded her in death on May 25, 1916 at Wood, Iowa.
In the year 1891 Mr. and Mrs. Winkler came to America and settled at Elkport, Iowa and has made her home in this vicinity ever since.
To this union were born 4 children, one of which died in infancy. Those left to mourn her departure are Mrs. Lena Beeh, Elkport, Iowa; Joseph and Carl Winkler, Elkader, Iowa. The funeral was held Thursday. Burial in the cemetery at Edgewood, Iowa, beside the remains of her departed husband. Rev. Damm officiated.
The deceased was greatly beloved by the people of this vicinity, where she has lived many years. The funeral was largely attended by neighbors and friends who deeply grieve with the bereaved family in the death of their good and kind mother. May she rest in peace.
