Mr. Charles Faber, Sr., died at his home just west of town [Ionia] Tuesday afternoon, May 23, 1905. His age was about 70 years. Mr. Faber came here with his family about five years ago, at which time he with his two sons, John and Charley, purchased the Julius Perske farm, where he and his family have lived ever since. He had been in poor health for some time, caused by stomach and kidney trouble. Mr. Faber was a kind old gentleman, and had won the respect of all who knew him. He leaves a wife, two sons and one daughter, who will miss the loving husband and father in the home. The funeral was held at the home Thursday morning at 10 o’clock and the remains taken on the noon train to National, Clayton county, for burial.
