CHRISTIAN ROHN.

At his home in Boardman township, on Sunday evening, Feb. 22nd, 1903, after a short illness the spirit of Christian Rohn departed from this life. He was born Oct. 3rd, 1832, at Dmmin [sic], province of Pommern, Germany. He came to American in 1867, settling first near Clayton Center, where he resided eighteen years. He then came to Boardman twp., and located on the farm where he died. In 1860 he was united in marriage with Miss Minnie Stade. To them were born nine children, of whom four only with the aged mother survive. These are John at Willow Lake, S. D., Mrs. Aug. Beier [Beyer], at Elgin, Ia., Henry at home and Mrs. Geo. Ehrhardt, of this township.

Deceased was a quiet and assuming [sic] man, a devoted father and a kind neighbor, one who had the respect of the community in which he had resided so many years.

The funeral was held at this place yesterday Rev. G. F. Braun officiating, attended by sorrowing friends of the family.

Christian Rohn died Sunday afternoon at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Geo. Ehrhardt, of Boardman township. Asthma and the consequences of old age were the cause of death. Deceased was born in Dernin, Pommern, Germany, Oct. 3, 1832, came to America in 1867 and located at Clayton Centre, living there 18 years and then came to Boardman township. He is survived by his wife, who is seriously ill, and four children; five children have preceded him in death. The funeral was held at the Congregational church this afternoon, Rev. G. F. Braun, of Farmersburg, officiating.
