MARTIN BRYAN WILEY

Martin Bryan Wiley, 63, died Jan. 3. 1960, at Xavier hospital, Dubuque.

He was born Sept. 12, 1896, near Greeley, the son of Mary Ellen McManus and Thomas Wiley. He was married Sept. 20, 1921, at Sacred Heart Church in Littleport to Leona Kafer.

Martin Wiley farmed in Clayton County for 18 years and was later employed by the Clayton County Asylum for 15 years. For the past three years he has been ailing with asthma and the progressive complications that finally took his life.

Funeral services were Thursday morning, Jan. 7, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Littleport, with the Rev. Joseph Kissling officiating. Burial was in the Sacred Heart cemetery. Pallbearers were Joe Schiessl, George Hubbard, Charles Downey, John Miller, Meritt Hamilton and William Muench.

Survivors include his wife, Leona, three sons, Cletus of St. Paul, Minn., Gerald of International Falls, Minn., and Kenneth of Waterloo; two daughters, Irene (Mrs. Harry Hubbard), Elkader, and Marion (Mrs. Patrick Kenneally), Dubuque; and eight grandchildren; four brothers, Charles of Greeley, Leo of Forest Park, Ill, Thomas of Minneapolis, Minn., and Henry of Manchester; and four sisters, Sister Mary Bruno of Cedar Rapids, Mrs. Ed Tinker of Greeley, Mrs. Ernest Eble of Dearborn, Mich., and Mrs. Richard Cahalan of Detroit, Mich.
