Monday occurred the death of Mrs. Lois Potter, at her home near Volga, after an illness of several weeks. The funeral will be held Wednesday at 10 o’clock a.m.
Lois Martin was born in New Haven, Conn., June 25, 1825. She moved with her folks to Buffalo, N.Y., when she was ten years old, and from there to Ills., in 1837.
She was married in 1847 to John M. Potter, and moved west, locating in Sperry township, in the spring of 1854, which has been their home ever since.
Mrs. Potter was a Christian woman, a member of the M.E. church at this place. She was a kind neighbor and will be missed by her many friends. She leaves a husband, four sons and two daughters to mourn for the departed wife and mother. Three children preceded her to the other shore. The sympathy of the community is with the sorrowing family.
