John Potter died at his home near Volga, Thursday, November 21, 1889, aged about 65 years. He had been ill several weeks. His wife died only five weeks before his death. Five children, three sons and two daughters, are left orphans; being bereft of both father and mother in so short a time is a double affliction. The funeral services, conducted by Rev. J. G. Whitford, were held Sunday at the M.E. Church.
