Mrs. Mary H. Green, wife of Daniel Green, died at her home in Volga, Thursday evening, September 19th, 1889, at the age of 68 years, 11 months and 7 days. Deceased was a native of Cambridge county, England; and was married June 21, 1840, and came to this country with her husband in 1852.
For nearly three years their home was in the city of Cleveland, Ohio, and in October, 1854, they located in Clayton county where they have since resided.
She was a member of the M.E. church in this place, and will be greatly missed by the society, and by her many friends. Heart disease was the cause of death.
The funeral services were held Saturday afternoon, September 21st; Rev. W. D. Marbry preached an excellent sermon from the text, “The last enemy to be destroyed is death.”
