At the family residence, in this place, on Monday, July 1st, 1889, occurred the death of Mrs. Julia Donevan, of general debility.
Julia Treacy was born in Ireland in 1832, and consequently was 57 years of age at the time of her death.
She resided in Ireland until 1850 when she came to the United Sates, locating in Ohio, and five years later they came to Clayton county, where they have since made their residence.
She leaves an aged husband and four children, M.E. Donevan, of Sioux Falls, Dak.; Kate and Annie Donevan, of this place, and Mrs. D.C. Buckley, of Maurice, Iowa, to mourn the loss of a loving wife and mother.
Deceased was highly respected by all who knew her, and her death will be sincerely mourned by a large circle of friends.
The funeral took place from the Catholic church Wednesday afternoon, Rev. Father Reilly officiating, and was largely attended. Her remains were laid away in the Catholic cemetery.
