Died at the family residence in this township, on Friday evening last, April 19, 1889, of diphtheria, Fannie the ten years old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Rogers. She was first taken with the measles and afterward with diphtheria. The parents have the sympathy of numerous friends in their affliction. Her remains were laid to rest in the Catholic cemetery on Wednesday.

Note: The Catholic cemetery referenced, more than likely is St. Joseph’s cemetery, Elkader, but researchers should confirm. Her parents, Edward & Della (Hutchins) Rogers, removed to Lyon co. IA in 1892.
