OBITUARY

The remains of Mrs. Frank Hume arrived Monday from Grand Forks, N. Dak., where she died on March 6th. Deceased was an old resident of Wesley having settled here with her husband in the year 1877. Her husband who died here April 5th, 1905, owned and operated a lumber business in Wesley for nearly 25 years and were among Wesley’s most highly respected citizens and were held in high esteem.

Deceased was born in Werdorf, Germany, March 2[6]th, 1851. Came to America with her parents in 1857 and settled at Elkport, Clayton County, Iowa. Was married to Frank Hume on February 1[4]th, 1872. She leaves to mourn her death three brothers and three sisters. Chas. Henrich, Ireton, Iowa; Fred Henrich, Janesville, Wis.; Henry Henrich, Bowie, Arizona; Mrs. J. D. O’Neil, New York; Mrs. Chas. Chenall, Inola, Oklahoma; Mrs. Wm. Watelman [Waterman], Guttenberg, Iowa, and a number of other relatives and scores of friends. After the death of her husband she resided here about a year when she moved to Grand Forks, where she resided with her daughter until death came to end the tender ties to all tat was dear to her on earth.

Funeral services were held from the M. E. church on Wednesday afternoon with Rev. Howe officiating. Interment was made in Evergreen cemetery and the remains laid beside that of her husband, it being her wish.

The sorrowing relatives have the fullest sympathy of her entire community in their sad bereavement.

Those present at the funeral from a distance were: A brother, Chas. Henrich and wife of Ireton, Iowa; Will and Louis Henrich, nephews, of Ireton, Iowa; Henry Waterman, nephew, of Morgan, Minn.; John Oneil [sic], brother in-law, of Chicago [sic]; a daughter Mrs. F. C. Bacon and husband of Grand Forks, N. Dak.; Mr. and Mrs. F. R. Amesbury and two children Clara and William, Mrs. Amesbury is a niece.

Many and beautiful were the floral offerings and especially from the members of the Thursday Club of which deceased was a charter member.

We wish to thank the kind friends who so willingly aided us in the preparations and burial of our mother. It gave us much joy to receive the aid of so many willing hands at this time of our deepest sorrow.
