Bishop, Hannah 1808-1889

At the home of her son in New Hampton, Iowa, March 11th, 1889, Mrs. Hannah Bishop.

The deceased was born in Rutland county, Vermont, July 24th 1808. In 1855, she came west. Locating in Wagner township, Clayton county.

Her illness was of short duration lasting not more than two weeks and during the whole of that time was able to be up more or less. Even on the day of her death, she sat up for hours at a time. Mrs. Bishop was a lady of great physical strength and enjoyed unusually good health during her more than four score years of life.

She raised a large family of children; three of whom survive her. They are three sons; Dan Bishop, of Calmar, R.N. Bishop of New Hampton, and another son who resides in Harrison county, this state.

Note: her husband Daniel (d. 1877) is buried in the Monona City cemetery; she 'might' buried there too
