MISS ELIZABETH KAISER

Funeral Services for Miss Elizabeth Kaiser were held Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock at the Oelke funeral home. The Rev. Paul Kitterer officiated. Burial was in the Elkader Cemetery.

Miss Kaiser died at her home in Cox Creek township, Wednesday evening, Jan. 5. The immediate cause of her death was a gall bladder attack. She was up and about her home the day of her death. She had reached the age of 78 years, 1 month and 23 days.

Elizabeth Kaiser was born on a farm in Cox Creek township, November 12, 1870 the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Christian Kaiser. She had spent her entire life in the home in which she was born. Following the death of her parents, she kept house for her brother Louis on the home farm.

Her father preceded her in death in 1935 and her mother in 1911 [sic] also a sister Mrs. Emma Heiden McCauley in 1942 and a brother Herman in 1898.

She is survived by one brother Louis of Elkader and one sister, Mrs. Earl Stillion of Fort Dodge, Iowa and one niece, Mrs. Melvin Wright, New Hampton, Iowa.

Pallbearers were: George Behn, Henry Behn, Glen McBride, Miles Scott, Henry Cords and Clarence Sturm.

Relatives from a distance who attended the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Wright, New Hampton, Ia.; Charles Wright, Upper Iowa University, Fayette, Ia.; Roland Wright, Iowa State Teachers College, Cedar Falls; Mr. and Mrs. Earl Stillion, Fort Dodge, Iowa.
