Thank you for this.
John was my teacher and beloved by all.
I knew both him and Beth as a child.
What little i can add is that curfew had just been inposed at 20:00 PM.
Somosista guards were always drunk and extorting money on the roads.
I believe John himself was accused of drunkenness but find Beth's relay perfectly plausible.
