Zachariah Jennings was born in Indiana, May 23, 1817 and died April 3, 1908 at the age of 90 years, 10 months and 10 days. In 1830 he moved with his parents to Fulton Co., Ill.
December 10, 1839 he was united in marriage to Miss Mary Morris, to them were born ten children. All are living except Alonga and Wm. The living ones are John and D.S. in Nebraska, J.M. of Volga, J.E., Geo., Mrs. Gage and Mrs. Crandall of Wadena, and Mrs. Fitzgibbons of Strawberry Point. All of them attended the funeral except those in Nebraska.
In 1846 Mr. Jennings moved to Iowa, 1847 to Plattsville, Wis., 1848 to Delaware Co, 1853 to Fayette Co., where he lived until his death.
About ten years ago Mr. and Mrs. Jennings received injuries by a team going off a bridge, from which they never fully recovered. His wife died in 1901. For the last eight years they lived with Mrs. Gage. They were members of the United Brethern church.
The funeral was conducted by Rev. Mrs. Nuedigate of Wadena and was attended by a large number of friends and relatives. He was buried by the side of his wife in the Volga cemetery. May he rest in peace.
