Eugene Mielke, 84, of Monona, Iowa, died on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at Gunderson Medical Center in La Crosse, Wisconsin. Eugene Frederick Mielke was born October 16, 1930 to Leo and Adaline (Fett) Mielke in Linton Township, Allamakee County, Iowa. He attended school in Linton Township.

Eugene was united in marriage with Theresa Kelly on October 18, 1950 at Cherry Mound St. Pius Church. He farmed until 1968. From 1959 to 1972 Gene hauled can and bulk milk, he also drove dump truck for Curt Henkes Trucking and Prairie Sand and Gravel, until he retired in 1991. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and most of all, spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Eugene is survived by his wife; Theresa Mielke of Monona; sons, Richard (Cheryl) Kelly of Chili, Wisconsin, Stanley (Sandy) Mielke of Elgin, Bruce (Gayle) Mielke of Waterloo and Todd (Deb) Mielke of Monona; daughter-in-law, Sandy (Kevin) Becker of Harpers Ferry; eleven grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.

Eugene was preceded in death by his son, Randy Mielke; sister, Marjorie May Kelly; daughter-in-law, Chrystal and his parents, Leo and Adaline Mielke.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Monona, Iowa with a one hour visitation before Mass at the church on Saturday. Rev. Nils de Jesus Hernandez will be the Celebrant.

Burial will follow at Monona Cemetery, Monona, Iowa.

Leonard-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service is helping the family with arrangements.
