Thor A. Wold was born in Norway, Sept. 21, 1850. His parents moved to this counry when he was about three years old, and settled on a farm in Wagner township where he spent most his life. In 1908 he moved with his family to Decorah, where they lived for five years. Five years were also spent at St. Ansgar, Iowa, where his sons are engaged in the hardware business. He was united in marriage to Live Johnson in 1872. To this union nine children were born: Andrew and Ferdinand, of St. Ansgar, Iowa; John, of Oswego, Mont.; Harrison, of St. Olaf; Olive Livdahl of Bismark, N. Dak.; Bertha Gilbertson of Towner, N. Dak.; Mollie Olson of Pasadena, Calif.; Lilli Engelhardt of St. Olaf; Viola Holt of Salome, Ariz. His wife preceded him in death in 1927. He is survived by one brother, Ole A. Wold; 25 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Mr. Wold has been in failing health for some time and passed away Sept. 4th. Funeral services were held Sept. 8th at the Norway church.
